Growing up in the Washington D.C. suburbs of Virginia, our owner Chef Ellen attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York in 1988. After her education, her externship, and her experience, she moved to Michigan to become a full-time pastry chef. Since starting her self-named bakery in Sylvan Lake, MI, she has continued to make every component of her creations in-house: the buttercreams for cakes, the tart fillings, the wedding cake designs, and more. It's why our cakes, cookies, and confections are perfect for any special occasion.
